Adrián Otaegui se adjudicó su cuarto título del DP World Tour en el Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters del año pasado, gracias a una dominante victoria por seis golpes.
El español entró en la ronda final con una ventaja de seis golpes y nunca dio al grupo perseguidor la oportunidad de alcanzarle, disparando cuatro birdies y un solo bogey en un cierre de 68 en el Real Club Valderrama para terminar con 19 bajo par, estableciendo con ello un nuevo récord del torneo.
Otaegui abrió su ronda con tres pares consecutivos antes de conseguir el primer birdie del día desde 5 yardas en el cuarto.
Hizo birdies consecutivos con un largo putt desde el semi-rough en el quinto antes de producir una buena salvada de par en el octavo para permanecer con siete golpes de ventaja en la cima.
Después de convertir su putt para birdie de 6 yardas en el noveno para situarse en 32, Otaegui falló una oportunidad de birdie desde 2 yardas en el décimo antes de ceder un bogey en el siguiente hoyo.
El jugador de 29 años se dio oportunidades de birdie en los 3 hoyos siguientes, pero tuvo que conformarse con pares.
Hizo un buen sube y baja para el par en el 15 después de fallar el green antes de salvar el par desde 5 yardas en el 16.
Otra oportunidad de birdie llegó y se fue en el 17 antes de que un birdie de cierre le permitiera conseguir un 68.
Joakim Lagergren terminó en solitario en segunda posición tras firmar una ronda final de 68, mientras que el australiano Min Woo Lee se situó tercero en solitario tres golpes más atrás, dos por delante del local Ángel Hidalgo, cuyo cuarto puesto le aupó al puesto 88 de la clasificación del DP World Tour en asociación con Rolex.

The Spaniard went into the final round with a six-stroke cushion and never gave the chasing pack an opportunity to catch him, firing four birdies and a single bogey in a closing 68 at Real Club Valderrama to finish on 19 under par, setting a new tournament record.
Otaegui opened his round with three straight pars before picking up a first birdie of the day from 16 feet on the fourth.
He made it back-to-back birdies with a lengthy putt from the semi-rough on the fifth before producing a good par save at the eighth to remain seven shots clear at the summit.
After converting his 18-foot birdie putt at the ninth to turn in 32, Otaegui missed a birdie chance from six feet on the tenth before surrendering a bogey at the next hole.
The 29-year-old gave himself outside birdie opportunities over the next three holes but had to settle for pars.
He made a good up-and-down for par at the 15th after missing the green before pulling off a par save from 15 feet on the 16th.
Another birdie chance came and went at the 17th before a closing birdie saw him sign for a 68.
Joakim Lagergren finished alone in second after posting a final-round 68, while Australia’s Min Woo Lee was three shots further back in solo third, two ahead of local Angel Hidalgo, whose fourth-placed finish moved him to 88th on the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.
