BIRTHPLACE

Born into a family deeply involved in golf, Kinhult’s journey began at the age of six, inspired by his golf professional father. Early signs of his potential emerged as he won the 2015 Junior Invitational and represented Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup in 2014. Adding to the family’s golfing prowess, Kinhult’s sister, Frida, once held the top position in the World Amateur Golf Ranking before turning professional.

The Swede himself first caught the golfing world’s attention as an amateur, making waves by becoming the third amateur to lead a DP World Tour event at the halfway stage during the Nordea Masters in June 2015. Despite his young age of 18, he showcased his talent and finished a commendable 33rd place in only his second appearance on the Tour.

But the success really came a few years later as Kinhult secured his first DP World Tour victory in impressive fashion at the 2019 Betfred British Masters. Displaying remarkable composure, he rebounded from consecutive bogeys on the 15th and 16th holes of the final round with clutch birdies on the last two holes, sealing a one-shot win.

The 26-year-old’s ascent to victory reflects his dedication and natural talent, as well as the strong golfing heritage within his family. From his promising amateur days to his thrilling triumph at the Betfred British Masters, Kinhult’s career to date is already glittered with highlights with more possibly set to come.
